  • Nelson Schwab III

    Chairman of the Board

    Nelson Schwab III currently serves as Chairman of the Board for Herschend Family Entertainment. Mr. Schwab co-founded Carousel Capital, a merchant-banking firm based in Charlotte, NC, in 1996. From 1992 to 1995, he was Chairman and CEO of Paramount Parks, a leading developer and operator of regional theme parks. Mr. Schwab was Chairman and CEO of Kings Entertainment Company, which was acquired by Paramount Communications Inc. in 1992. Mr. Schwab also served as Executive Vice President of Taft Broadcasting Company's Attractions Group, where he had worked since 1976.

  • Chris Herschend

    Vice Chairman

    Chris Herschend serves as Vice Chairman of the Board for Herschend Family Entertainment. Chris is the majority owner and President of Ride The Ducks, the nation’s largest amphibious tour operation, with locations across the country. Prior to leading Ride The Ducks, he held positions in marketing and finance at the Coca-Cola Company and at an Atlanta venture capital firm. Chris has a long tenure on the HFE Board of Directors having served since 1997.

  • Chuck Bengochea

    Chuck Bengochea joined Family Christian, LLC as President and CEO in 2014. Previously, he led The HoneyBaked Ham Company as Chief Executive Officer. After nearly 20 years with the company, he nows serves as Chairman of the Board for Honeybaked Ham. Previously, he was Controller of the Fountain Division at The Coca-Cola Company, where he served since 1987. Chuck began his career in the Financial Management Training Program at General Electric.

  • R.A. Griffin, Jr.

    R.A. (Rusty) Griffin, Jr., is the retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Griffin LLC. Founded in Valdosta, GA, in 1935, Griffin LLC is a manufacturer of crop protection and specialty chemicals. Mr. Griffin served six years in the Air Force Reserves and became President and CEO of Griffin LLC at the age of 26 upon the death of his father in 1970. He was also instrumental in leading the company during the formation of a joint venture with Dupont in 1998.

  • Jim Herschend

    Jim has served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Cumberland Caverns, Inc. since 2007. Prior to that he worked as the Chief Pilot and Flight Instructor for a Flight operation in Southwest Missouri where he was responsible for aircraft lease, pilot training and aircraft sales. Jim is the Herschend Family Foundation vice president and also serves on the Silver Dollar City Foundation Board of Directors and the Herschend Family Council.

  • Allison Moran

    Allison Moran is Chief Executive Officer of RaceTrac. She joined her family's 80 year-old business, RaceTrac Petroleum, Inc., in 1994, working in the Operations Department as a Training Coordinator. She was promoted to Vice President of Human Resources in 1999, and then Senior Vice President in 2005. During her tenure in this role, additional oversight of the Operations, Category Management, Marketing Information Systems, Logistics and Special Projects fell under her purview.

  • Todd Schurz

    Todd Schurz has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Schurz Communications, Inc. since 2006. SCI is a diversified privately-owned, communications company with daily and weekly newspapers, television stations, radio stations, cable companies, shopping guide publications, phone directories, a printing company, and numerous digital operations. Todd currently serves on the boards of MSTV, the CBS affiliates board, Mutual Insurance Company Limited, and Memorial Health Systems. Prior to joining SCI in 1989, Mr. Schurz worked for the Times Journal Company in Springfield, Virginia and for the New York Daily News during graduate school.

  • Donna Tuttle

    Donna Tuttle is Co-Owner and Chairman of Elmore-Tuttle Sports Inc. In addition, Ms. Tuttle is Chief Executive Officer of Les Frame Enterprises and Korn Tuttle Capital Group. Previously, Ms. Tuttle served as Chairman and CEO of Ayer Tuttle from 1989 to 1992. She also served as Deputy Secretary of Commerce during the Reagan Administration from 1987 to 1989 and as Under Secretary of Commerce for Travel and Tourism from 1983 to 1987. She began her career as a school teacher and eventually moved into business management.

  • Andrew Wexler

    As CEO of Herschend Family Entertainment, Andrew directs a range of strategic initiatives to successfully leverage the company’s core competencies in entertainment, service and operational excellence to deliver shareholder value. During his tenure, HFE has grown its profitability and strengthened its balance sheet despite the challenging economic times. Prior to joining HFE in 2007, Andrew was a co-founder and Chief Financial Officer of Derivion, a pioneer in internet-based billing, and Chief Operating Officer of Martin Capital, a real estate development and finance firm. His work experience also includes time at Arthur Anderson and McKinsey & Company.

    Andrew earned his BBA and Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Georgia. He obtained his MBA from Harvard Business School where he graduated as a George F. Baker Scholar. He and his wife live in Alpharetta, Georgia with their two children.
