The Vancouver Aquarium continues to be a shining example of excellence—not only in animal care and conservation but also at creating amazing experiences for the guests at VAQ.
During the Canada's Accredited Zoos and Aquariums - Aquariums et Zoos Accrédités du Canada (CAZA/AZAC) 2025 Annual Conference in October, our very own Clint Wright from the Vancouver Aquarium was presented with the Greg Tarry Award, honouring a respected leader whose dedication has shaped Canada's zoological community!
Since joining the Vancouver Aquarium in 1990 and throughout his career, Clint has exemplified leadership that bridges animal welfare, science, and public engagement. His work has helped define modern standards for marine mammal care and aquarium operations worldwide, earning him recognition as a committed advocate for conservation, ethical stewardship, and global collaboration in the care of aquatic life.
Additionally, the Aquarium was honoured to have received the Half-Century award from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, marking 50 years of continuous accreditation! The award represents an unwavering commitment to maintaining the global gold standard in animal wellbeing and care, conservation, education and scientific research.
Finally, VAQ was thrilled to have received not one, but two IAAPA Brass Ring Awards in the Food & Beverage categories! These international honours from IAAPA celebrate innovation, creativity, and excellence in guest experience.
